Stepping Stones or Stumbling Blocks: Your Role in the Community

Introduction:

Every day, our words and actions influence the people around us. In our spiritual walk, we must stop and ask ourselves: Are we stepping stones that help others grow, or are we stumbling blocks that cause people to trip and fall? This blog dives deep into how our behaviors impact our community—and how we can become a source of strength, not struggle, for those walking alongside us in faith.

Here are our favorite bible study tools. Here is the link:

The Call for Connection: Why Community Matters

In a society that often encourages independence and self-focus, the value of true community can get lost. But the Passover story reminds us of the importance of connection. When the Israelites came together in unity, miracles happened. Think of your community like a garden—each person adds something essential to the growth of the whole. When you uplift others with encouragement and kindness, you help that garden flourish. But if you sow division or negativity, you act like a weed, draining energy from those around you. Ask yourself: Are you feeding the soil, or are you pulling others down?

Lessons from Joseph and Moses: Divine Purpose Through Relationships

Joseph's story isn't just about dreams and betrayal—it's about relationships. When Jacob sent Joseph to check on his brothers, it set off a chain of events that shaped the destiny of a nation. Likewise, Moses wasn’t ready to fulfill his purpose until he reconnected with his people and embraced his role as their leader. These stories show that Yahuwah often uses our relationships to move us into our callings. Are you open to the lessons and blessings that come through others, or are you missing divine opportunities by shutting people out?

Carrying One Another’s Burdens: Living Out Galatians 6:2

The Bible tells us in Galatians 6:2 to "carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Messiah." What does that look like today? It could be checking in on a struggling friend, praying for someone going through hardship, or just being present. When someone around you is suffering, your compassion can be the difference between healing and despair. On the flip side, ignoring someone’s pain or offering harsh words can make their burden heavier. Choose to be the person who lightens the load, not the one who adds to it.

Every Action Matters: Building or Blocking Someone's Faith

Your influence is bigger than you think. A stumbling block doesn’t have to be a massive mistake—it could be a sarcastic comment, gossip behind someone's back, or a judgmental glance. These small actions can shake someone’s confidence in their faith. But the good news is, the same is true for stepping stones. A kind gesture, a listening ear, or a sincere compliment can build someone’s faith and encourage them to keep going. When you realize that your everyday choices have spiritual weight, you’ll be more intentional in how you treat others.

Walking in Humility and Service: The Example of Moses and Aaron

Humility is a quiet strength that transforms communities. Moses is one of the greatest examples of humble leadership. Despite his status, he constantly put his people’s needs above his own. Aaron, too, acted quickly to help others, showing that true service often means moving before being asked. Humility isn't weakness—it's power under control. Are you someone who lifts others up quietly and faithfully, or do you wait for recognition before you act? Real spiritual growth comes when we choose to serve others selflessly.

Positive Connections Shape Our Faith

The people you surround yourself with influence your faith journey. Uplifting, spiritually minded relationships will help you grow, while toxic connections can derail your purpose. Even Moses and Aaron faced rebellion from those closest to them. But they stood firm and stayed focused. It’s important to recognize when a connection is leading you away from Yahuwah's will. Build your circle with people who encourage you to walk in truth, love, and obedience. Remember: Your community doesn’t just reflect who you are—it shapes who you’re becoming.

Choosing to Be a Stepping Stone: Living with Purpose and Intent

Being a stepping stone means making choices that help others get closer to Yah. This could mean offering encouragement, sharing wisdom, or simply being present during someone’s difficult time. But it also means being honest with yourself. Are your actions inspiring faith, or are they planting seeds of doubt? We all make mistakes, but through self-reflection and repentance, we can realign with Yah’s will and become the kind of person who lifts others up. When you choose to be a stepping stone, you help build a stronger, more loving spiritual community.

Conclusion:

Your role in the community matters more than you realize. Every word you speak, every decision you make, has the power to influence someone else's walk with Yah. Let’s commit to being stepping stones—people who lead others toward hope, healing, and truth. In a world full of distractions and division, let us be the ones who build a path of love, faith, and unity for those who come after us.
